A Rainy Wedding Day at Evergreen Country Club

What started as a beautiful sunny day quickly turned this country club wedding at Evergreen Country Club into a rainy one! The rain didn’t stop the show from going on for Mac & Joanne though, nor did it lessen any beauty of their day and the fine details they planned out!

Starting the Day at Evergreen Country Club

Joanne and her ladies started the day across the street where they were primped and styled by Beauty by Aubrey. One thing I absolutely love about this venue is how large the Bridal Suite is for the ladies to get ready in! Seriously, the room is massive which is always a good thing as you never want your getting ready space to feel too cramped or cluttered–especially if you are taking photos in that space!

While we didn’t do photos in the Bridal Suite itself, we most certainly did capture Joanne getting ready in the large and luxurious Honeymoon Suite inside the mansion. The suite provided plenty of space for us to capture Joanne’s dress to the fullest extent with her 7 bridesmaids assisting her. I love that I was able to capture the moment when they taped her sixpence into her shoe as well!

The guys also got ready in the mansion! They hung out in the basement which provided plenty of sitting space and access to the outside for them to enjoy their cigars in celebration of what the day was about to bring!

Once everyone was ready, Joanne and Mac shared a First Look in the Conservatory of the mansion. Plenty of natural light filled the space to capture such a sweet moment. The couple also shared private letters with each other which elicited some heartfelt tears.

As we stepped outside, we quickly noticed the changing sky. Unfortunately, the weather forecast wasn’t looking promising for their outdoor ceremony. Eventually, the couple made the rain call and decided to proceed with the outdoor ceremony. Luckily, the venue had plenty of umbrellas to provide the guests!

We were also so lucky to capture all of the wedding party photos prior to the ceremony as everyone ended up getting soaked during the ceremony! But looking back, it surely made for a fun memory for the couple and their closest friends. Thankfully, the mansion has a large porch that really came in handy for family portraits after the ceremony.

You Can’t Have a Rainbow Without a Little Rain…

As the reception time inched closer, the skies cleared and out came a stunning double rainbow! I ran outside as fast as I could to find our sweet couple and there they were, already in the parking lot with their friends snapping photos on their phones. I hopped in on the fun and we captured a couple of portraits with the rainbows + golden hour light showering down on them!

For a rainy day, it truly could not have turned out any better! I can’t help being grateful for amazing couples like Mac and Joanne. They handled the day with endless grace and patience despite the challanges. It’s wedding days like this one that remind me that not every single thing has to be perfect in order for it to be completely and utterly beautiful. We can find the beauty even in the toughest challenges thrown at us.
