Tropical Vibes for a Jewish Florida Wedding

In April of 2023, Alexandra and Daniel joined themselves together for their tropical-inspired Jewish wedding at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. Their ceremony took place under the Wedding Oak and their reception was held inside the waterfront event center (Michael’s on the Bay). I began documenting their day by capturing their First Look and Daniel was truly blown away. Alexandra was truly such a beautiful bride worthy of a jaw-drop! From her natural beauty to her gown and even the orchids in her hair, she was a show stopper.

Jewish Traditions

Shortly after their First Look, we went on to document their Ketubah Signing and then the Bedeken. The Bedeken is where the bride is surrounded by her female family members and friends and the groom dances out with his closest male family and friends to “veil” his bride. You can see in some of the images below the pride and emotions that came across Alexandra and Daniel as they partook in this sweet moment.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Jewish wedding without a good ole Hora dance to start the party! Watching the two of them dance joyfully with friends and family before being hoisted into the air right at sunset was so fun!

To Be 100% Traditional or Not…

I adore how Alexandra and Daniel really made their day “theirs”. While keeping with tradition for most parts of the day, they also incorporated their own ideas of what was special to them. For instance, they had a private First Dance in front of the Oak Tree they were married in front of just a couple hours prior. It was truly such an amazing day filled with love and (mostly) tradition, and I am honored to have been a part of preserving this day in history for this couple and their families!
